You said it was love

Whenever the word
"love" comes around
I've learned to smile
and feign I don't mind.

See?
I've become a pretty good liar,
not as good as you though

You said it was love,
You said love was forever,
You said I was love,
You and I together.

You said I was your princess,
you built a castle from your words,
you rose me up to heaven
and then you left me fall,
you left and everything crumbled down,
your words, a castle made of cards,
the wind scattered our love.

You said it was love,
you drove me up the sky,
then you left and I fell down
from my castle in the clouds,
the ground was hard and cold,
reality is an earthly brown.

You said it was love,
You said love was forever,
You said I was love,
You and I together.

You said I was your heaven,
you wrote a fairytale out from promises,
you trapped me inside your storytelling
and then you left me on my own,
you left and the beauty turned to beastly,
your promises, spring blossons made of dust,
the wind scattered our love.

You said it was love,
you drove me up the sky,
then you left and I fell down
from my castle in the clouds,
the ground was hard and cold,
reality is an earthly brown.

I learned
that fairytales are for children,
that fairy dust does not last,
that castles made from cards
can't withstand the wind
and in reality
there are no princes
awaiting for their princesses.

You said it was love,
You said it would last forever,
You said we were love,
You and I together.

You said...
You said..
You said...
Everything you said
scattered with the wind
