My happy ending

I believed in a happy ending,
I thought forever was a must,
that as long I held your hand
no matter how hard the road
I'll reach a happy ending.

We were so young,
we were so naive,
back then we trully believed
that as long as there was love
we'd be...
an unstoppable force!

But love went to waste
and we forgot to stop
just blindly running forward
until there was no more road

...

I trully believed in a happy ending,
I really thought you were my destiny
and now that we are just love dust fading
into sepia colored memories
I wonder where our way went stray.

I no longer believe in a happy ending
now we are both just done pretending
that we are still our inocent old selves.

I learned that you are not my destiny
but still we kept running blindly
'till there was no more road to turn and see,
the  fall was hard and we both kept hurting,
I fell into the pond of solitude
still being by you
I reached out my hand and it was empty

is time to go stray
and maybe find my own way

A new start point is waiting
I wonder if there'll be a happy ending
but this time I won't depend on others
I'll build myself the road
to my own beautiful happy ending.
